Hat-trick for Ely in U15 Champs

Dominic Ely came away from the County Under 15 Championships with a hat-trick of titles and trophies in his sports bag. In the boys singles he reached the final with a confident 15-6,15-7 semi-final victory over Ben Sharman, who had earlier knocked out George Vickers 15-12,15-11. The other semi-final turned out to be a very close encounter between Tom Boardman and Ben Page, with Page eventually coming out on top 16-14,13-15,15-13, only to then have to face the high flying Ely in the final, which Ely won 15-5,15-7 to pick up his first title of the day.

The plate winner was Jacob Trend who beat James Smith 15-9 in the final.  Ely and Page then teamed up to win the boys doubles crown with a 15-10,15-10 victory over Boardman and Vickers, who had earlier come through a three setter against Sharman and Robbie Hobson, 14-16,15-12,15-6.

Ely won his third title of the day when he teamed up with Kathryn Adamson to win the mixed doubles by beating Page  and Georgia Moyes 15-7,15-11. Adamson had earlier won the girls singles title by beating Moyes 15-12,15-10. But Moyes deservedly came out on top in the level doubles when she partnered Lauren Mortimer to win all five of their matches. Adamson and Atlanta Harrison took second place.

Mortimer was the girls plate winner, beating Alice Alvi-Coe in the final.
