Salter claims Hatrick

James Salter scored a convincing hat trick of victories at the County Under 13 Championships. He cruised through his group in the boys singles dropping just 22 points in his four matches to reach the semi-finals, where he had a comfortable 21-5 victory over George Underwood. But it was the top four girls who emerged from the group stage to contest the semi-finals, where Beth Underwood beat Annaliese Gray 21-7 and Atlanta Harrison  defeated Holly Frary 21-4, leaving the two top seeds to battle for the title. The final produced some good badminton from both players, but it was Underwood who came out on top to take the title 21-15. The two girls then teamed up for the doubles, which was played in one group, with several closely contested games. But it was the two top girls who confirmed their superiority  to win the title, with Anna Allen and Rachel Copley taking second place, closely followed by Ellie Mendhamand and Tomasin Ainsworth- Harrold  in third
